Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Your trust matters to us. This page explains, in plain English, what information Murmix collects, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we only collect what we need to run Murmix, we never sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Who we are
Murmix is a product of Ximplex, operated from Costa Rica. For anything related to your privacy, contact us at support@ximplex.app.
What we collect about you
- Account information: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or GitHub.
- What you tell Murmix: what you sell, who your customers are, your competitors, your searches, the languages you speak, your time zone and email hour.
- What you do in Murmix: conversation status (new, joined, dismissed), your votes and your private notes.
- Email activity: which morning emails were sent and whether a link was clicked, so we never repeat a conversation and can learn which emails are most useful. We don't track email opens.
- Your messages: when you use the contact bubble or email us, we receive your name, email, topic and message.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Dodo Payments. We only receive the status of your subscription.
- Technical information: basic logs (like IP address and browser type) that our hosting provider keeps to run the service securely, and anonymous visit counts.
Public posts we collect
To find conversations for you, Murmix collects posts that are already public on Hacker News and Bluesky: the text, the title of the thread, the author's public username, the date and the link. We use them only to find and show relevant conversations to Murmix users, and we always link back to the original.
If you wrote a public post and want it removed from Murmix, write to support@ximplex.app with the link and we'll delete it.
How we use your information
- To run Murmix: find and score conversations, show your dashboard and send your morning email.
- To keep Murmix secure and prevent abuse.
- To improve Murmix, using overall, non-identifying usage information.
We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it except with the service providers below.
Service providers
We rely on a few trusted companies to run Murmix. They only process data to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: Stores your account, searches, saved conversations and settings (database).
- Vercel: Hosts and runs the Murmix website and app. Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits anonymously, without cookies.
- Anthropic: Provides the AI that reads public posts and your product description to score conversations, write summaries and suggest searches.
- Resend: Sends your morning email and delivers the messages you send us.
- Google and GitHub: Let you sign in to your Ximplex account if you choose them. We receive your name, email and profile picture. You can also sign in with a link sent to your email.
- Dodo Payments: Processes payments as our Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments handles your card details; we never see or store them.
- Hacker News search (Algolia): The public search service Murmix uses to find Hacker News posts. We only send it your search words.
- Bluesky: Its public search, which Murmix uses to find Bluesky posts. We only send it your search words.
Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries.
Cookies
We only use the cookie that keeps you signed in. It's shared by the Ximplex apps (like Forduex and Murmix), so you sign in once. We also remember your day/night choice in your browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can close your account at any time in Settings → Manage account, and we erase your Murmix data right away. If you ask us by email instead, we'll remove it within 30 days, except where we must keep something for legal reasons.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to the database is restricted to our server, and each person can only see their own information.
Your rights
Under Costa Rica's data protection law (Law 8968) and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask us at any time to give you a copy of your data, correct something that's wrong, or delete it. Just write to support@ximplex.app. We'll reply within 30 days.
You can also stop the morning email with the link at the bottom of every email, or in Settings.
Children
Murmix is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we make important changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version.
